HS SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

District Volleyball            
Congratulation to the Lady Panthers on their Sectional Championship. They will be starting district play this Tuesday, Oct 21st at Ottawa-Glandorf High School. They will be playing at 6pm vs.  Patrick Henry High School. Come on out and support the Lady Panthers in their quest for a district championship. Cost for the volleyball District game will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.

Senior night will be Oct 31st. This will include Football, Cheerleaders, Golf and Cross Country

HS STUDENT ANNOUNCEMENTS

Unity Day            
Wednesday October 22nd is Unity Day. Wear orange to show your support and unite against bullying.

Any parent/guardian of a 7th thru 12th grade student is considered a member of the 7-12 Academic Booster organization.  We are accepting applications for being part of the executive committee.  The application process is informal – simply e-mail Jeremy Herr (herrj@mb.noacsc.org) or submit in writing your interest to be considered for one of the officer positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary or Treasurer.  The deadline for accepting applications is Monday, November 3rd.  Our next meeting is Thursday, November 13th at 6:00 p.m. in room #144.  Any parents attending the meeting should enter the school building through door #4.

College Visits            
Representatives from the following universities will be visiting McComb High School during homeroom. Any interested student should sign up outside Mrs. Day’s office.
Tiffin University - October 23rd
University of Findlay - October 30th
BGSU - October 31st
Defiance College - November 11th

Seneca East is hosting its third annual So You Think You Can Sing Vocal Talent Competition on November 8th in Tiger Auditeria at Seneca East High School.  If you love to be on stage to share your vocal talent, this is the competition for you.  There is a middle school (grades 6 - 8) and high school (grades 9 - 12) division with prize money and trophies being awarded in both divisions.  This year our competition features touring a cappella groups from Tiffin University, so if you love to sing and be on stage, then come join us for a night of great music.  Guidelines and entry forms are on Seneca East's website at www.seneca-east.k12.oh.us under the "community" heading.

Grob Apprenticeship
A representative from Grob industries will be coming in to talk about apprenticeship opportunities through the company on October 21st. Students who are interested in learning about an apprenticeship should sign up outside of Mrs. Day’s office.

Apprenticeship             
A representative will be visiting McComb High School on Tuesday November 4th during homeroom to speak about apprenticeship opportunities with Vaughn Industries. Students interested in an apprenticeship after high school should sign up outside Mrs. Day’s office.

VOD Contest 
The VFW is sponsoring the Voice of Democracy essay contest. Any student in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply. The theme for this year is “Why Veterans are Important to our Nation’s History and Future.” Any applications are due by October 24th. See Mrs. Day for more information. 

JH ANNOUNCEMENTS

Any 8th grade girl that is interested in playing basketball this year, practice will start next Tuesday Oct 21st from 3-5pm. You will receive more information Tuesday about practice times and games

The young Panthers of McComb prowled on to Jim Berry Field last night and swatted the Hornets of Cory Rawson 40 to 8 to record their 5th victory of the season. The “boys of football” scored touchdowns using offensive plays, defensive stands with interceptions, and special teams execution to roll bring down their opponent.  With this win the Young Panthers have set the field for a winner take all game for the Championship of the Blanchard Division next Thursday. Congratulations on your hard earned victory but start preparing for the challenge of next week – start preparing like a champion.

ELEMENTARY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Remember that October’s Box Tops contest is for a trip to Golden Corral with Mr. Davis and Mrs. Simons.  Ten lucky students will be going on the trip.  Names are drawn weekly with the last drawing on October 31st.  Five Kindergarten/Preschool names will be drawn to win Golden Corral gift cards. Keep turning in those Box Tops!  Extra turn-in sheets are available outside Mrs. Simons’s room (#262).
